I grew up in the back seat of a 1986 Z28. The very same one that I am working to restore at the moment. So naturally when I went to buy my first car I went straight to Chevy to try out the new Camaro. I knew I would not have the money for the top end version but the V6 was ok with me for the time being. I just wanted to be in a Camaro. Sadly the new Camaro was a severe disapointment. The Camaro was cramped and uncomfortable inside with poor visibility and a generally plastic and cheap feel. As much as I wanted to like it I just couldn't bring myself to love the new Camaro the way I love that old 86.
So my search began for something else. I tried many cars including the Charger and the Challenger. The Challenger's performance with the V6 was pathetic. The Charger was just not my style. I looked at a few imports with Mazda, and Mitsubishi. I was again disapointed.
After a few months of research and trying cars I wandered over the local Ford dealer. I had a fairly low opinion of the Mustang at the time. mostly through ignorance. I Hadn't read anything about the then newly released 2011. It was late summer 2010.
When I went to Ford I intended to simply eliminate the Mustang from consideration and move on. Boy was I wrong.
The 2011 Mustang was simply the best car I have ever driven. For those of you who would laugh I remind that I am twenty-three and I had a $20,000 limit. pretty damn good considering my age but still well out of reach of anything with a V8
Anyways, after being convinced that a Mustang would be the last car I would ever buy I ended up with this beauty and I must say for all the years that Ford was being stupid with the style and power of their car. They have recovered the Mustang's glory in fabulous form.
This was my car when I first bought it a little over a year ago.
and again
